They Said It...

Here are some interesting recent quotes from newsmakers around the world:

“Senator Obama's support among… hardworking Americans: white Americans, is weakening again…there’s a pattern here.”

This quote is from Hillary Clinton.  She couldn’t possibly mean what she is suggesting here, could she?  Imagine the reaction if John McCain or another prominent Republican had said this.

“…over the last 15 months, we traveled to every corner of the United States.  I have now been in 57 states…I think…with 1 left to go…1 left to go…Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to…I really wanted to visit, but my staff could not justify it.”

This quote is from Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama.  Two things Barack: there are only 50 states in America, and how can you only have 1 left to go when you haven’t visited Alaska or Hawaii?  Barack will make a great President, for all 58 states.

“This woman has spent a lifetime changing people’s lives.  She’s a genius at making changes in other people’s lives.”

This quote is from former President Bill Clinton referring to his beloved wife Hillary.   Joseph Stalin was a genius in making changes in other people’s lives too.  Attention freedom loving Americans: fear this woman.

I don’t want to sound like an ad, a public service ad on TV, but the fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on.  If you can’t, then you’ve got, the Army, Iraq,  I don’t know, something like that.”

This insulting quote is from author Stephen King.  The opinion that members of our military are uneducated is a popular one among leftists in this country.  Check out this quote from John F. Kerry in 2004:

You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

John Kerry, Stephen King and their elitist ilk love to look down their noses at the brave, self-sacrificing members of our military.  The truth is that most of them have no sense of duty, sacrifice or honor, so they can’t imagine that those who volunteer to serve this country have any other choice.

"America’s soldiers are proudly serving and fighting for us all. We can be proud of our soldiers’ selfless service, their skill and their ingenuity. They certainly are role models for every high-school student in America considering a noble career ... and many book authors."

This quote is from Army Spokesman Paul Boyce who noted that most soldiers are avid readers and that military recruits test above the national average in reading and vocabulary skills.  You don’t have to defend them to us Mr. Boyce.

"We counseled President Carter against going to the region and particularly against having contact with Hamas."

This quote is from Secretary of State Condaleeza Rice.  She made it clear that the United States Government advised Jimmy Carter against meeting with a leader of Hamas, one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations in the world.  Of course, Jimmy didn’t just visit the leader of Hamas, he hugged him.

“Actually, we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will [win] the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle”

Speaking of Hamas, this quote is from Hamas’ political advisor Ahmed Yousef.  Their support stems mainly from Barack Obama’s willingness to have diplomatic relations with terrorist sponsoring nations like Iran.  Senator Obama’s foolish foreign policy statements have enabled him to wrestle away the much sought after Terrorist Endorsement from Hillary.

“I think it is very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president of the United States … I think that the people should understand that I will be Hamas’ worst nightmare.”

This quote is from John McCain as he attempts to capitalize on Hamas’ unfortunate endorsement of Barack Obama.   One thing is for certain, we can trust John McCain to make the tough decisions that will protect this country and my children’s future.

“The hinge of possibility…there may arise some men of instruction and ardent public spirit, some new Ezras, some modern Maccabees, who will know how to use all favouring outward conditions, how to triumph by heroic example, over the indifference of their fellows and the scorn of their foes, and will steadfastly set their faces towards making their people once more one among the nations.”

This quote is from novelist, George Eliot’s essay in 1879 making the case for a Jewish state.  As it turned out, there came “men of instruction and ardent public spirit” who triumphed heroically and created the independent state of Israel which has now lasted 60 years.   Happy Birthday, Israel.

Israel is a stinking corpse on its way to annihilation…Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken.”

This is a quote from Mahmoud Ahmandinejad, cheerful leader of Iran, responding to Israel celebrating 60 years of independence.  He sounds like the type of guy you can reason with.  Maybe Barack isn’t foolish for thinking that diplomatic relations would work.

“Americans grasp that Israel’s very existence to some degree embodies the defeat and repudiation of the genocidal totalitarianism of the 20th century. They understand that its defense today is the front line of resistance to the jihadist terror, and the suicidal nihilism, that threaten to deform the 21st

This quote is from columnist, William Kristol.  Most Americans grasp this…most.
