So much to cover so little time....

The harsh interrogation techniques that the Obama Administration just banned worked. Prisoner Khalid Sheik Mohammed surrendered key information about a planned attack on a 72 story office building in downtown Los Angeles only after being “water-boarded” several times.  Without harsh interrogation, this attack would have happened.  This begs the question: if Obama was President for the past 8 years and refused to use harsh interrogation, how many Americans would have died in domestic terror attacks?  We'll never know for sure.  Former Vice President Dick Cheney has asked the administration to declassify more reports detailing how successful the program was.  Something tells me, we never see them.

Not only has the Obama Administration banned the interrogation techniques that have kept us safe, they have left the door open to prosecute our own covert field operatives for merely following orders at any given time.  By declassifying intelligence reports for political purposes, the Obama Administration sent these operatives a clear message: following orders could lead to future prosecution by a politically minded administration. This has never been on the table before.  In fact, this type of stuff only happens in banana republics.  Welcome to National Security in the Obama Administration.

Speaking of National Security, President Obama’s choice of Janet Napolitano for Director of Homeland Security is, to put it mildly, a really bad joke.  This woman is a buffoon.  First, she issues a memo ordering everyone to stop using the terms “war on terror” and “terrorist attack” (instead, she wants us to use terms like “overseas contingency operation” and “man-caused disaster”).  Then she issues a memo declaring the biggest threats to our country are Veterans of our own military, Christians, and right-wing TEA party activists. Good assessment.  Then to top it all off, she publicly claimed that the 9-11 terrorists entered our country through Canada. Patently false.  Her political correctness and ignorance threatens all of us.  So, why did Obama appoint her Director of Homeland Security?  That’s simple.  The same reasons he appoints anyone to his administration: she is subservient, simple-minded, and easily manipulated.

Speaking of President Obama’s easily manipulated appointees, Attorney General Eric Holder visited Berlin last week to discuss the closing of our highly successful Guantanamo Bay Prison.  Now, why would our Attorney General visit a foreign country to talk about closing one of our military prisons?  Well, the answer to that provides insight into just how short-sighted the Obama Administration is.  Eric Holder went to Berlin to beg the Germans and the rest of Europe to please accept into their countries some of the terrorists that we are arbitrarily releasing.  Of course, they all said no, leaving the Obama administration in a tight spot.  So, what happens now to the terrorist detainees?  That's a good question. Symbolism over Security, my friends, get used to it.

By the way, according to Barack Obama, he closed Guantanamo Bay and banned harsh interrogation techniques because they symbolize America losing “it’s moral bearings”. Keep in mind that this is a man who wholeheartedly supports and virulently defends partial-birth abortion.  For those of you who don’t know, that is when through induction, a live infant is pulled half-way out of the mother and then jabbed in the back of the head with an instrument that sucks its brain out.  He has also voted three times to allow hospitals in Chicago to allow infants that survive botched abortions to be left alone to die in utility closets (email me if you want definitive proof of this).  It is nice to see a man of such high moral character restoring our nation’s moral bearings.  Barack Obama says that “America doesn’t torture”.  Unfortunately, his record and his actions add: “unless you are a defenseless unwanted infant.”

On a lighter note, The Anti-Second Amendment group, the Brady Campaign, recently gave Vermont an “F” in their annual state’s report card.  Their spokesman, Chad Ramsey said that “Vermont is one of the few states without any real regulations to control the sale of handguns.”  Vermont has one of the lowest crime rates in the country by the way.  The Brady Campaign then gave New Jersey a much higher grade saying that “New Jersey continues to make progress when it comes to common-sense gun laws.”  It should be noted that New Jersey has twice the murder rate and 11 times the armed robbery rate of Vermont.  Do you think these loony liberals at the Brady Campaign can even see the irony in this?

Considering that there hasn’t been any rise in global temperatures in 10 years and they’ve actually declined over the past 2, Al Gore has a lot of nerve standing before Congress and saying: “I believe this legislation has the moral significance equivalent to that of the civil rights legislation of the 1960s.”  The legislation he is talking about is the farcical “Cap and Trade” which I will write more about soon.  “Cap and Trade” is essentially a tax that forces every business in America to purchase carbon credits from guess who?  That’s right, a company owned by Al Gore.  You can’t make this stuff up.  By comparing the hoax that is “Cap and Trade” which will supposedly fix the hoax that is Global Warming to the seminal civil rights legislation of the 1960s, Al Gore is taking his act to a new low.

By the way, Al’s father, Senator Al Gore, Sr. and his Democrat friends voted against the against the civil rights legislation in the 1960s.  In fact, I am going to blow your mind right now by telling you that of the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes.  By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes.  This fruit for thought is according to the research done by Diane Alden at Newmax.com.
