the Right Angler
A couple of months ago, there was concerned caller to the Glenn Beck Radio Show. He was upset with the expansion of Government power, the unprecedented use of tax payer money to fund it and our inevitable move toward socialism as a result. Most of all, he was upset that so many Americans voted to put a man in office committed to such a radical agenda. The caller brought Glenn Beck to tears. Beck apologized to the audience for his breakdown: “I’m sorry. I just love my country and I fear for it.”
Many of us know just how Glenn Beck and that caller feel. We see things happening that we hoped and prayed never would. That day, Glenn Beck assured the caller that he was not alone. He promised to prove there were millions of concerned Americans just like him. On that day, the 9-12 Project was born.
Initially called the “The You are Not Alone Project”, the 9-12 Project began in mid-February. It's a grass roots movement that encourages people to unite within their communities to preserve the principles and values detailed in our founding documents: the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I visited the website: www.theglennbeck912project.com and read this:
9-12 Project Mission Statement
This website is a place for you and other like-minded Americans looking for direction in taking back the control of our country . It is also a place to find information that will assist you in navigating the rough waters we face in the days, weeks and months ahead. We suggest that you start in your own homes. Talk to your family about the Values and Principles. Discuss the importance of what the Founders designed for America. Hold or attend a weekly meeting in your neighborhood or town. Communication with your neighbors is vital to the process of protecting our country. Gather in living rooms, coffee houses or restaurants. Share your thoughts and ideas. Visit this website often. Make use of the resources that are linked here. Share the ideas and resources that have worked in your home or town. This is a non-political movement. The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.
That same feeling – that commitment to country is what we are hoping to foster with this idea. We want to get everyone thinking like it is September 12th, 2001 again.
Ask yourself these questions:
If you’ve answered YES, then you’ve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides—the reality is very different. Once you pull back the curtain, you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they don’t surround us at all.
We surround them.
At the origin of America, our Founding Fathers built this country on 28 powerful principles. These principles were culled from all over the world and from centuries of great thinkers. We have distilled the original 28 down to the 9 basic principles.
So, how do we show America what’s really behind the curtain? Read the Nine Simple Principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common.
I urge you to go to the website and read the 9 Principles and 12 Values the Project is based on. You can also read about the TEA Parties that are happening all over the country. TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already. Americans from the 9-12 Project and other groups have been organizing peaceful TEA Party demonstrations in front of town halls and state houses across the country to show that we are united and concerned about our country’s future.
April 15th has been declared National TEA Party Day. Groups across the land are mobilizing to demonstrate and make a difference. I visited their website: www.teapartyday.com too and noticed there was a group from North Attleboro planning a trip to Boston where they will meet up with groups from all over the State. I spoke to the local organizer. Anyone interested in joining your fellow townspeople in Boston, the site of the original Tea Party, on April 15th , please email me at tcarges@therightangler.com.
I’ve talked to many concerned Americans over the past few months. They ask me what we can do to preserve our freedom and liberty? Well, we can accomplish great things together, but I believe that it starts with each us asking ourselves: “what can I do?”
I can talk to my children about our Founding Fathers, their values, their principles. I can read to them the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I can teach them the truth. I can talk with my friends and family about the impact our votes have on our future and our children’s future. I can meet with like minded, concerned citizens, share ideas, hold events and make a difference. I can take time out of my busy schedule because its important.
I can fulfill my duty as an American to honor those who have sacrificed their lives for my freedom by doing my part to preserve and protect the freedom and liberty of future generations of Americans. I can do more than complain and get angry. I can take action. I can and I will because I am not alone and my children are counting on me.
