The Chicago Annenberg Challenge

In the past, I’ve written about a man named Bill Ayers and his relationship with Barack Obama.  Bill was (is?) an avowed domestic terrorist. As leader of the Weather Underground, he bombed the Pentagon and other government buildings during the 1960s.  He then became a fugitive in 1970 when a bomb intended to kill Army Officers in New Jersey accidentally exploded in a New York Townhouse.  Ayers once characterized his organization as “an American Red Army” and summed up their ideology as: “"Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments.  Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents."  Ayers wife, Bernandine Dohrn once said of the Charles Manson murders: “Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them.  They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Wild!” 

Today, Bill Ayers is unrepentant and teaches at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  As recently as 2001, he was pictured stomping on the American Flag in Chicago magazine. He also told the New York Times just before 9/11 that the notion of the United States as a just, fair and decent place: “makes me want to puke”.  His only regret is that he didn’t do “enough”.

So, when a bright, young community organizer named Barack Obama began his first political campaign, guess who hosted his first official fund-raiser and kick-off party? That’s right, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, that cute terrorist couple down the street. When asked about it, Barack explained that Ayers is just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood, not someone who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.”  Others have added that while Barack and Bill Ayers run in the same social circles in Chicago, there is no deep, relationship there.  Now what kind of social circle includes someone who tried to kill Army Officers in New Jersey, advocates killing his parents and personally bombed the pentagon?  Apparently, Barack’s does.

Recently, new details have emerged that suggest that Ayers and Obama have a much closer relationship than Barack would have you believe.  Bill Ayers founded a charitable organization called The Chicago Annenberg Challenge.  According to the Chicago Defender and the Hyde Park Herald, Barack Obama was chairman of the board of that organization from 1995-1999.  According to Stanley Kurtz of the National Review, who is researching the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and Barack’s close ties to Bill Ayers: “Obama assumed the Annenberg Chairmanship only months before his first run for office, and almost certainly received the job at the behest of Bill Ayers.  During Obama’s time as Annenberg board chairman, Ayers’s own education projects received substantial funding.  Indeed, during its first year, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge struggled with significant concerns about possible conflicts of interest.  With a writ to aid Chicago’s public schools, the Annenberg challenge played a deeply political role in Chicago’s education wars, and as Annenberg board chairman, Obama clearly aligned himself with Ayers’s radical views on education issues.  With Obama heading up the board and Ayers heading up the other key operating body of the Annenberg Challenge, the two would necessarily have had a close working relationship for years (therefore “exchanging ideas on a regular basis).”

Stanley Kurtz has tried to gain access to the files of the Annenberg Challenge but has been stonewalled.  Conveniently, they are housed in the Richard J. Daley library at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the very university where Ayers teaches.  Kurtz believes these documents will reveal, in detail, the true relationship between Barack Obama, Bill Ayers and other radical groups that received funding when Barack was chairman.  After first receiving permission verbally and in writing to review the files, Kurtz was denied access.  He was told that the donor of the files had never given the library a signed deed of gift so they didn’t have a right to grant public access, a bit unusual because libraries exist to provide the public with information, and these files were donated some time ago.  Kurtz then attempted to find out who the donor of the files was but has not received an answer as of yet.  He suspects the donor is Ayers himself. Stanley Kurtz is working hard to gain access to these files.  Provided they are not tampered with or destroyed, they should provide critical insight into Obama’s relationship with a known domestic terrorist, and the radical views they have shared.

Sex Education for Kindergarteners

Speaking of radical views, John McCain recently ran an ad suggesting that Barack Obama’s only legislative accomplishment on education was promoting sex education for kindergarteners.  Obama’s campaign responded by saying that Barack only supported training Kindergarteners to avoid predators.  Well, it appears they have been caught lying, again.  As an Illinois State Senator, Barack Obama did vote for comprehensive sex education for grades K-12. It gets worse.  The curriculum that Barack sought to use is from SIECUS (Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States). For your child’s sake, remember that acronym.  I read the curriculum for grades K-3. It is abhorrent.  Common decency prevents me from providing details in a community newspaper, and these psychos want to teach my 5 year old this stuff.  I encourage every parent to go to my website: www.toddcarges.com, read the curriculum and see for yourself what Barack Obama wants to teach your young children.  You will be sick to your stomach.
